#repost@stevewinterphoto ・・・ @natgeo @stevewinterphoto This is a very rare image of a wild Indochinese tiger I photographed by camera trap in Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary in the Western Forest Complex of Thailand for my @natgeo Tiger Story and NG Books "Tigers Forever". Today it was announced by Thailand’s Dept of National Parks that in the eastern part of Thailand A sign of hope for the endangered tiger, a new scientific survey has confirmed the presence of the world’s second breeding population of Indochinese tigers and provided the first photographic evidence of tiger cubs in eastern Thailand. https://www.panthera.org/new-study-confirms-worlds-second-breeding-indochinese-tiger-population We need to realize deep in our hearts that animals have emotions too. If we can treat them better - maybe we could find some empathy inside of us to treat each other better also. There are only 3400 tigers left in the wild! We need to fight for the right of jaguars to live - peacefully and without being killed for the traditional medicine market, and other trade. Help stop the demand for endangered species used in this practice! “When the buying stops, the killing can too” #wildaid Big Cats are keystone species in their ecosystems, though we as humans are not. The forests and grasslands of big cats give us 50% of our oxygen and 75% of fresh water. If we can save big cats we can help save ourselves! There's an overwhelmingly amount of issues in the world that need our attention but we can always start with something we have a passion for. I've always loved big cats especially lions; and I'm sure my love for the lion king has something to do with it. It's heartbreaking to learn that the number of African lions has decreased around 90% over the last 75 years. Currently learning how I could be of help in saving the big cats. What's your passion for the world? ・・・ @natgeo @stevewinterphoto African lions may number as few as 32 000 individuals across the continent. Repost from @sav_wildheartphoto - Awesome video for #rhinofridayfrom @stevewinterphoto. As amazing as this is, almost all the rhinos are victims of poaching. Losing their most important thing in their lives, their mothers. The amazing work being done by @careforwild is giving these guys a second chance. Let's make their future brighter! -------------------------------------------- #repost@natgeo with @repostapp ・・・ @natgeo @stevewinterphoto This week I visited @careforwild with my assistant @alexbraczkowski to photograph and film white rhinos. Rhinos in Africa are facing a poaching crisis (23 have been killed in the last 2 weeks in Kwazulu-Natal alone). Petronel Nieuwoudt and her team run the biggest and most sophisticated rhino rehabilitation centre in the world. Working together with @sanparks and local vets they rescue, rehabilitate and release rhinos who have lost their mothers. These teenagers are getting a second chance at freedom. Check out @careforwild to find out more about rhinos and how you can help today! GREAT NEWS!!!!
Last year China promised to stop the sale of elephant ivory by the end of 2017. Now it is making good on that promise: 67 ivory carving factories and retail shops across the country have closed down in March, and the rest will by the of the year. This are great news for the 30,000 elephants killed each year for their tusks in Africa.
We can each participate on social media and make our voices heard for the elephants that have no voice in their future.
When the buying stops the killing can too!! @wildaid
As every 15 minutes a elephant is killed for its ivory. We need to make owning ivory an act unbecoming of a civilized people. We need to all become people who respect the lives of elephants and their right to walk this earth as they have for 1000’s of years - free and safe from harm by humans.

Please check out the @natgeo IVORY cover story.
